Often anterior teeth become broken or abscessed and need to be removed and replaced.  These days the current standard of care is to replace the ailing tooth with an implant.  This is considered a less invasive procedure because it deals with the one area of concern and leaves the adjacent teeth untouched. Of course, since this may be in the "cosmetic zone" it is very important to have a replacement that is indistinguishable from the natural teeth.
